Crossroads Alternative Education Center offers independent studies utilizing the Apex virtual learning platform.

The Independent Study program is designed for students who are independent learners.  Students meet with a credentialed teacher for one hour, one day a week.  At that time, they review assignments that were assigned the week prior and are assigned work for the upcoming week.  Attendance at the sessions is required.

Students are assigned a regular one hour weekly appointment with their teacher.  If a student is unable to attend that scheduled meeting they must contact their teacher at the earliest point possible to reschedule and to arrange for submission of work.

There are no excused absences in independent studies; work is due at each week's scheduled meeting with the teacher. Students are required to log in to their Apex classes daily and stay up to date with the schedule for each class.
