Principal's Message

Bobbie Bobcat & Zelda Dias-Harper

Dear R.M. Miano Elementary Parents, Guardians, Students, and Community,

My name is Zelda Dias-Harper and it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year at R.M. Miano Elementary School.  We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways, filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning.

Our vision is to empower teachers, in partnership with parents, in order to educate children as lifelong learners by promoting academic achievement, self-directed learning, and problem solving skills as measured against the California Common Core State Standards. As a staff, we will model and guide students in collaborating, communicating, thinking critically and using creativity to support learning and meet rigorous content standards.

R.M. Miano staff believes that every student is valued and worthy of our best effort every day. Our mission is focused upon addressing the academic, emotional, and social needs of all students. Teachers identify essential standards and set goals to have all students meet grade level standards. The purpose of our educational program is to prepare students to be lifelong learns and reach their academic potential.

I am honored to serve as the principal of R.M. Miano Elementary School.  It is a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, staff, and students genuinely care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth.

Sincerely,

Zelda Dias-Harper, Principal
