Fireworks Safety Month 🎆 is June 1 - July 4
As we approach the Fourth of July celebrations, Los Banos Unified School District reminds our community to prioritize safety during fireworks season!
Safety Tips:
🔥 Leave fireworks to the professionals - attend public displays
🔥 Never allow children to handle fireworks
🔥 Keep water nearby when using legal sparklers
🔥 Know your local fireworks laws and restrictions
🔥 Have a fire extinguisher or hose ready
🔥 Never try to relight "dud" fireworks
Let's celebrate safely and keep our Los Banos community protected! Report any unsafe fireworks activity to local authorities.

Dear Los Banos Unified School District (LBUSD) Community,
I am writing to share some news about an opportunity that has presented itself in my professional journey. While I had originally contemplated retiring next school year, after thoughtful consideration and reflection, I have accepted a position with another school district that will allow me to continue growing as an educational leader while applying the valuable lessons learned during my time in LBUSD. While I look forward to this new chapter, I am filled with gratitude for the extraordinary experiences we've shared.
Serving as your Superintendent has been one of the greatest honors of my professional career. Over the past eight years, we have navigated challenges, celebrated achievements, and consistently prioritized the educational needs of our students. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished as a community.
Together, we have achieved remarkable progress that fills me with pride. We have elevated our district's academic performance metrics across all grade levels and successfully implemented innovative curriculum and instructional strategies that have enriched our students' educational experiences. Our partnerships with local businesses and community organizations have flourished, creating valuable opportunities for our students and strengthening the fabric of our community. I am particularly proud of how we've transformed our facilities into more vibrant and conducive learning environments where students can thrive. Perhaps most gratifying has been witnessing the tremendous growth in parent and community engagement in our schools, creating a true educational partnership that benefits every student.
These accomplishments were only possible because of the dedication and hard work of our exceptional teachers, staff, administrators, board members, students, parents, and community partners. Your commitment to educational excellence has been inspiring, and I will carry the lessons I've learned from you throughout my career.
The Board of Education will soon communicate the plan for leadership transition. I am committed to ensuring this transition is smooth and that the district's positive momentum continues uninterrupted. I leave with complete confidence that Los Banos Unified School District is poised for even greater achievements in the years ahead. The extraordinary foundation we've built together provides a springboard for continued excellence and innovation. The true strength of this remarkable district has always been its people, the passionate educators, dedicated staff, engaged parents, supportive community members, and, of course, our inspiring students. This powerful community will continue to thrive and reach new heights of educational excellence.
With deepest gratitude and respect,
Mark E. Marshall, Ed. D.
Proud Superintendent
Los Banos Unified School District
