Today is the first day of Black History Month and also National Freedom Day.
It commemorates President Abraham Lincoln's 1865 signing of a joint Senate-House Resolution, later ratified as the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, abolishing slavery.

February is Black History Month. Please join us as we honor the triumphs, struggles and contributions of African Americans across US history.

We strive to help our students grow into well-rounded individuals with the skills to succeed in life no matter where they go. We are so proud of all our achievers at every LBUSD campus.

Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the profound impact he had on the quest for liberty and justice for all people.
